Albert Merton “Andy” Andrew, 96, was born on September 6, 1929, in Newkirk, Oklahoma, to Loyd Austin and Ada Muriel Mae (Hoefer) Andrew, and passed away on June 22, 2026, in Mineral Wells, Texas. Andy called Nowata, Oklahoma his home while a child.

Andy married Coralie Jewel “Cork” Phillippe on January 1, 1950, in Wichita, Kansas and they were married 72 years. She preceded him in death on December 2, 2022.

Andy served in the US Army from 1952 to 1954 as a Survey Specialist in the 793 Field Artillery and was stationed in Germany. Coralie joined him and they traveled to every neighboring country they could. They traveled across the United States and to so many countries around the world.

At different times of their life, they called El Paso, Texas; Cloudcroft, New Mexico; and Breckenridge, Texas their home.

During his work career he was employed at Boeing Aircraft Engineering Department, then as a High School Teacher, and then 28 years as a Right of Way Agent with the Texas Highway Department in El Paso, Texas from which he retired. He was the greatest husband, father, grandfather and friend. He went by many names – Andy, Fod, Daddy, Dad, Sir, Grandpa and was the best at every aspect of his life.

Andy is survived by his children and their spouses, Lori Locke, Gerald and Cindy Andrew, Jame and Grady Sanders, Amye and William Eudy, and Sam and Tamara Andrew, eleven grandchildren and their spouses, nine great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and two grand-dogs. He is survived by many nieces and nephews, many life-long and new friends; and his little dog, Molly.

Andy was preceded in death by daughter, Keli Rene Capp in 2018; grand-daughter, Ashley Marie Meza in 2025; his parents; his brother, Loyd Dorsey Andrew; and sisters, Anna Luverne Brewer and Mary Muriel Andrew.

Funeral service for Andy will be on June 24, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Baum Carlock Bumgardner Funeral Home in Mineral Wells, Texas. Burial will be beside his beloved wife at Greenwood Cemetery in Wichita, Kansas at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association – North Center Texas Chapter, 2630 West Freeway, #100; Fort Worth, TX 76102 or to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
