Anita Valdez Banda, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and educator, went to home to be her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday 17th September 2022. She was born January 20, 1948 in Orrville, Ohio.
Anita was an avid and eager learner. She received her Bachelor of Christian Education from Andersonville Seminary. She helped her local church, Pursuit Fellowship, as a Sunday School Superintendent and Sunday School Teacher. Anita loved to worship the Lord; on countless occasions, whether in church or in family settings, she would sing to our Lord. She also continuously stressed higher education and for her family to always seek the Lord.
Anita was preceded in death by her parents, Pete and Catharine Valdez; four brothers, Daniel, Salome, Juan and Lee Valdez; two sisters, Valentina Guzman, Della Valdez.
Survivors her loving husband of 56 ½ years, Emilio Banda; her three sons, Mark and Angelica of Haltom City, TX, John and Christina of Mineral Wells, TX, and Eric and Bambi of Alvarado, TX.; 13 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Ophelia Martinez; numerous extended family and friends.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Funeral services are 10 a.m., Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Home with her son, Rev. Mark E. Banda officiating. Interment will follow at Woodland Park Cemetery.
