Arvey Lynn Powell

November 27, 1956 — February 6, 2026

Weatherford

Arvey Lynn Powell went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, February 6, 2026. A resident of Weatherford, Texas, he was born on November 27, 1956, in Spur, Texas, to Arvey Wilse and Della Marie Powell. He was raised in Jacksboro, Texas, where he met his wife, LaDonna Rhone, and the high school sweethearts soon began a marriage of 51 years.

Lynn spent most of his career in the oil and gas business and was employed by Mitchell Energy and later Devon Energy. He also served as a youth pastor in Jacksboro, then moved his family to Perrin, Texas, in 1987, to pastor a church for 10 years. At the same time, he continued to work full-time in oil and gas. He and his family lived in Perrin for 30 years, then moved to Weatherford in 2018.

As a devoted family man, Lynn enjoyed vacations with them to the mountains, offroad trips on ATVs, camping and fishing. He also spent his free time welding, running his tractor, using his well-kept set of tools and constructing various gifts for his wife, children and grandchildren. He was also a loyal Dallas Cowboys fan and Harley Davidson enthusiast.

Lynn is survived by his wife, LaDonna; his children, Curtis Powell and wife Rachel, Amye Powell Hecox and husband Ross, Jamye Powell and Ashton Powell. He also leaves behind two grandchildren, Brandon Powell and Drew Hecox, and his sister, Charlena Fitzgerald.
