Bernice Richardson, born Bernice Bussey, on May 19, 1928, to Zack T. Bussey and Donie Blake Bussey in Ada, Oklahoma went home to Jesus on April 22, 2024.
She graduated high school in Maysville, Oklahoma in 1947. She married Kenneth Alza Richardson on September 19, 1947, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. They moved to Mineral Wells, Texas in 1952, and she has been a resident of Mineral Well until her passing.
Bernice was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Alza Richardson, her parents, Zack T. and Donie Bussey, her siblings, Fred Bussey, Ruiel Bussey, and Juanita Orr Pettit. She was also preceded in death by her grandson, Kenneth Eugene Richardson, and her daughter-in-law, Linda Fay Richardson, and by numerous nieces and nephews.
She is survived by her sons, Robert Alvin Richardson, Jack Edwin Richardson and his wife, Bonnie. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Cheryl Jones and husband, Robby, Tim Richardson and his wife, Kara, Michael Richardson and wife, Irene, Krista Strawser, Tonya Corzine and husband, Jerry, Sheri Tester and husband, Mario, Joshua Causey and wife, Adrienne, Lindsey Causey, 31 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.
She was deeply involved in her church and loved her church family beyond measure at Parker Street Missionary Baptist Church and later at Calvary Baptist Church . She was a very giving person having given her existence to her Lord and Savior, Jesus, first, then her family, and especially her boys. She gave by working concession stands when needed. She gave by being the morning hostess at the Senior Center when asked. She gave when she was needed at church in numerous capacities.
She worked for over 30 years at the ASCS Office of the Department of Agriculture helping the farmers and ranchers of Palo Pinto County. Many of them held her in high regard through the years.
She will be dearly and greatly missed by countless individuals too numerous to mention who knew and loved her.
