Burton Doyce Parks, 81, of Mineral Wells passed away Monday, January 3, 2022. He was born July 15, 1940, in Mineral Wells, Texas, to George and Nina Evelyn Day Parks.

When Burton was younger, he was a lifeguard at the Baker Hotel and in two bands, Billy Woodruff and the Starlighters and Jabo Combo where he played the piano, accordion, sax, and trumpet. He loved boating, fishing, water skiing, and camping.

Burton was a quiet man, who never got excited or mad. He was also patient. He took care of his wife of 60 years, Delores, for many years, even when he himself was in a wheelchair.

Survivors include his wife, Delores Wright Parks; children, Lori Parks Blackburn and husband Stacy, Burton Dwayne Parks, Kelli Parks McAliley and husband Carey; grandchildren, Ashley Salge and husband Brian and Jacob McAliley; great-grandchildren, Jace and Holly Salge; sister, Carol Moeller and husband Jan; numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held 2 p.m., Thursday, January 6, 2022 at Woodland Park Cemetery.
