Carol Ann Durkee

Carol Ann (Carson) Durkee, 84, passed away January 12, 2023 in Mineral Wells, Texas. She was born March 3, 1938 in Haviland, Kansas.

Carol received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from University of Kansas in 1960 and worked as a RN in the Kansas area for several years. She also lived in Michigan and New Jersey before moving to Fort Worth in 1975. She began volunteering for the Harris Hospital system while living in Fort Worth and continued volunteering for over 10 years, continuing to volunteer even after she moved to Mineral Wells in 1980. She volunteered at the Palo Pinto General Hospital as an auxiliary member from 1984-2013 and was auxiliary President in 1986. Carol co-chaired and volunteered with the local Blood Drive efforts from 1988-2022. She enjoyed reading, baking, needlework and visiting family.

Survivors include her husband, Michael Durkee, and her children and grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held 2 p.m., Monday, February 20, 2023 at Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Chapel.
