b. October 6, 1934

Carol JoAnne Boyd Hamilton was born October 6, 1934 in Hood County, Texas. She went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on November 15, 2015. She passed peacefully and gracefully while holding her precious Holly's hand. JoAnne was preceded in death by her parents, R.S. Boyd Jr. and Ethel Berry Boyd and a very special friend, Mrs. Thelma Simmons. She is survived by her brother, Roger Boyd; three children: Holly Hoover and husband John, Boyd Hamilton and wife Teresa, Dell Hamilton and wife Julie; six grandchildren: Christopher Hoover, Morgan Hamilton, Kaylee Hamilton, Brandi Navarette and husband Jorge, Jeffrey Hamilton and wife Hannah, and Jessie Hamilton; and two great-grandchildren: Jayden and Haleigh Navarette. JoAnne is also survived by a sister-in-law, niece, nephew, numerous cousins, friends and former students. JoAnne was a home economics teacher and then a counselor at Mineral Wells High School for over 35 years. Her love, devotion and service to her family, students and friends will leave an enduring legacy for generations to come. Her retirement years were spent in service to her family, managing the family farm and caring for the garden that meant so much to her. Visitation will be at First Baptist Church in Mineral Wells from 6pm-8pm on Thursday, November 19. Services will be held Friday, November 20 at 1pm, also at First Baptist Church in Mineral Wells. Interment will follow the service at Granbury Cemetery in Granbury, Texas.
