Catherine June "Cathy" Boatright

God called Catherine June Boatright, “Cathy”, home in the early hours of April 3^rd, 2023. She is now at peace after years of fighting various ailments. She was with family members in her Mineral Wells home. She was 69 years old.

            Cathy was born on June 3^rd, 1953, in Las Vegas, New Mexico, to parents James and Pearl Hawley. She attended Southwest High School where she graduated in 1971. She attended Texas Christian University where she graduated in 1976. During that time, she met the love of her life, Russell, and the couple married on August 13^th, 1977. They raised three children and remained at each other’s side for 46 years.

            Cathy was a registered nurse at Southwest Methodist Hospital. She worked some days, but mainly night shifts in the emergency room. Coworkers and patients alike would love her overwhelmingly acts of kindness and compassion for her work. She retired in 2008 due to her illness.

            Cathy enjoyed wildlife and traveling. She would share many pictures of beautiful birds, flowers, and landscapes. She and her husband enjoyed trips around the world, from Switzerland to Australia, to places in France and Mexico. She also enjoyed gardening, jewelry crafting, and hanging out with her longtime friends.

            But Cathy was all about family. She often called all of them simply to talk. She cherished holidays, birthdays, and any other event when she was surrounded by family. She went above and beyond for all their needs.

            Cathy is survived by her husband, Russell Boatright; her son and his wife, Andrew and Rachel Boatright; her daughter and her husband, Ashley and John Kotarski; her daughter, Amy Boatright; and her three grandchildren, Brenden and Bailee Boatright, and Aden Kotarski.

            She will be greatly missed.

            A Celebration of Life will be held 6 p.m., Thursday, April 6, 2023 at Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Chapel. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity in Catherine’s name.
