Charles Wilson Mowles

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Charles W. Mowles, who left this world peacefully on September 19, 2026, at his home, surrounded by the love and care of his three beloved children. Born on October 2, 1946, in Ysleta, Texas, Charles was the cherished son of James Wilson and Alma Lois Mowles.

Charles lived a life full of warmth, humor, and dedication. As a devoted husband, he married the love of his life, Frances Louise Bradshaw, on February 3, 1967, in Dallas, Texas. Together, they built a beautiful life in Grand Prairie, Texas, where they raised three wonderful children: Pamela, Charles D., and Paula. Their marriage was a testament to love and partnership, filled with laughter and shared dreams until Frances's passing.

A highly skilled automotive and diesel mechanic, Charles dedicated his career to his trade until his retirement in 1999 in Mineral Wells, Texas. Beyond his professional life, Charles was an avid fisherman and hunter, a passion he often shared with his accepted son, Mike Bennett, especially when restoring older vehicles. His love for the great outdoors was matched only by his love for family gatherings, where he could often be found sharing his quick wit and warm smile.

Charles was renowned for his generosity and the uncanny ability to make anyone feel welcome. His kindness and genuine care left lasting impressions on all who had the privilege of knowing him. He is fondly remembered by his 17 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild who brought immense joy to his life.

Charles was predeceased by his devoted wife Frances, his parents, and his sister Shirley Mowles, along with other cherished family members. He leaves behind a legacy of love in his surviving children, Pamela, Charles D., and Paula, as well as his extensive and loving extended family.

The viewing will be held at Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Home located at 302 W Hubbard St. Mineral Wells, Texas 76067 on September 24, 2026 from 6:00pm-8:00pm. 

A celebration of Charles's life will be held on September 25, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Mingus Baptist Church, located at 100 E. Pecan St., Mingus, Texas, 76463. Family and friends are welcome to gather in remembrance of a life well-lived and a man deeply loved.
