Charlie Richard Minton

Charlie Richard Minton passed away May 5, 2026.

Charlie was born Apr 2, 1947 in Castlewood, Virginia and raised in Graford, Texas. He attended Graford schools and graduated from Graford High School where he was an excellent student and athlete and admired by teachers and friends. Charlie joined the Army and severed in the Vietnam War where he received a Purple Heart for his service. After returning home he served as a firefighter for 14 yrs in Arlington TX. In his spare time, he enjoyed carving cachino dolls, leather tooling, and collecting arrow heads.

On March 20th 1974 he married Sherry McClure the love of his life for 52 yrs.

Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie Claude and Angie Mae Minton and by his brother, Samuel Walter Minton.

Survivors include his wife, Sherry Minton and other special people in his, his Aunt Alice Sain, Dixie Smiddy and husband Ricky, Lou Neally, Cyndi Minton Bailey, Misty Stalcup, Shane Neally, Remington Shields; and many more family members.

Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Monday at Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Home. Graveside services will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at Graford Cemetery.

He meant so much to all of us and will be missed by all who knew him.
