Clarence Kenneth Hornbeck

January 1, 1955 — December 15, 2021

Clarence Kenneth “Kenny” Hornbeck, of Mineral Wells Texas, a beloved father, friend, papaw and uncle went to his heavenly home December 15th at the age of 66. Kenny was born to Kenneth “skeeter” Hornbeck and Martha Jane Masterson, January 1st 1955. He was the first baby born in Palo Pinto County that year. Kenny was mostly raised by his grandparents Alma and C.K Masterson, of Mineral Wells, where he would live and reside until joining the army where he would go into communications. He was honorably discharged from the army in 1975 after the evacuation of Saigon and end of the Vietnam War. Kenny would spend his post military service in the oilfield working alongside his brother and best friend, Anthony “Tony” Hornbeck. Until the 1980’where he would start his true career as a commercial carpenter. During which he would build some of the greatest structures in Texas , including the Galleria of Dallas, original Cowboys Stadium, and numerous office buildings and condos and of course the Dallas Convention Center. Where he would win an award for having been the foreman and assistant safety coordinator to build one of the straightest buildings in Texas. Friends and co-workers would call him a “super carpenter” Kenny was always the life of the party and had a deep love for music of all kinds. He was well loved and a blast to be around and would usually be found watching his friends in the band Blackhorse play or at a concert. He would pass that love for music down to his children who were the light of his life. He was a good father to his children, and adopted countless others who would call him dad or uncle Kenny. He was a very loving and compassionate man who was never afraid to speak his mind or wear his heart on his sleeve but most of all, he was a man who always made sure he lived life out side of the box, a proud father and a proud pawpaw. Kenny was preceded in death by his father, grandparents and daughter Sierra. He is survived by his daughter: Kindal Taylor and husband Derrick Taylor. Sons: Anthony Mings and Samuel Hornbeck. Brothers: Anthony Hornbeck and wife Kenetha, Chris Hornbeck. Sister: Kelly Moran and husband Randy. Niece: Michele Slemmons and husband Kevin, Taylor and Amanda Hornbeck. Nephews TJ, Gaylan, Eddie, and Christopher Hornbeck, Austin and John Moran. And grandchildren: Tristen and Layla Taylor and Sutton Hornbeck. And numerous others including cousins and great nieces and nephews. He will be missed happy trails Kenny and see you on the other side!

 

 

Services will be held at the American Legion in Mineral Wells Texas January 8th at 2pm.
