Clyde Rhea Walker

Clyde Rhea Walker, 91, passed from this life into the Kingdom of God on Tuesday, October 14, 2025. He was the youngest of four children and a long time member of the Southside Church of Christ in Mineral Wells. Clyde was born in Graford, Texas on June 3, 1934. He graduated from Graford High School in 1951, then received his bachelors of business administration degree from The University of North Texas in 1955. He immediately served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged as a reserve 1rst Lieutenant in September, 1964.Clyde was an avid reader, a sports enthusiast, an accomplished culinary artist and a master woodworker. He loved spending time with familyand he had developed a deepening love and tender empathy for animals. He enjoyed a successful career as an award-winning manager for several car dealerships in the Dallas area before retiring in Mineral Wells in 1999, where he lived the remainder of his earthly life.Clyde was preceded in death by his parents, John and Eva Walker (Graford, Tx), his sister, Nathalee Whatley (Possum Kingdom Lake, Tx), two brothers, John Ed Walker (Weatherford, Tx) and Roy Lee Walker (Graford, Tx). He is survived by his loving wife of seventy years, Melba Martin Walker (Mineral Wells, Tx), his daughter, Pamela Frederick and husband, Kevin Frederick (Athens, Tx), his son, Clyde Rhea Walker and wife, Rhonda Walker (Garland, Tx), grandchildren Jamie Currivan (Barcelona, Spain), Hunter Frederick (Los Angeles, CA), Stephanie Maher (Arlington, Tx) and Jennifer Maher Lafitte (Plain Dealing, La). A visitation will be held between 4 - 6 pm in the Chapel at Baum Carlock Bumgardner Funeral Home on Sunday, October 19th, 2025. Funeral services will be held in the same chapel on Monday, October 20th at 2 pm.
