Daniel Lee Turk

In loving memory of one of the best people, Daniel Lee Turk.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a beloved father and devoted husband, Daniel Lee Turk. He was taken from us suddenly to attend the best party in Heaven on Sunday, April 7, 2024 at the age of 66.

Dan was a loving husband, father, and friend who touched the lives of all who knew him. He was born on October 22, 1957 in Springfield, Vermont to Dumitri and Virginia Turk.

From an early age, Dan demonstrated a strong work ethic and a passion for learning which laid the foundation for a successful career in sales.

Just like the George Strait song Dan loved, he “let his Lone Star dreams take him to Texas” when he was 19. Dan loved to listen to a variety of music and George Strait was one of his favorite artists.

Dan cherished every moment with friends and family. He was a best friend to his daughter, Lauren and a committed, faithful, and compassionate soulmate to his husband, Terry.

Dan had a genuine loving heart, always posting on Facebook about his family, friends, and random people he met he just thought were nice. He always took the time to give a good review at any place he went to, always trying to lend a helpful hand. He felt joy by anonymously picking up the tab for people he never met if he overheard them dealing with a difficult situation or if they were in the service.

Dan was also a man of many interests. He had a passion for gardening, cooking, music, and Miller Lite…. And sometimes all at once! He enjoyed the Mineral Wells community and did not hold back on his political views.

He was always making a joke and loved making people laugh. He always congratulated people close to him, extended family and friends, and people he barely knew. Dan will be missed by so many friends and family.

Though we grieve his sudden exit, we take comfort in the memories we shared with him. His love, laughter, and wisdom will forever be etched in our hearts. As we celebrate his life, let us remember the lessons he taught us about love, perseverance, and the importance of cherishing every moment.

Daniel Lee Turk leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will continue to inspire all who knew him. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

He is survived by his husband, Terry Gifford; his daughter, Lauren Turk and her partner Terry Madsen; his stepchildren, Kimberly and Charlie Mace and Todd Gifford; siblings, Roger and Kathy Turk, Marsha and Mel Buxman; several nieces, nephews, and grandchildren; as well as his mother in law, Betty Nelson; and sister in law, Kathy Gifford and her husband Rudy Silva.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April Twelfth 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm in the Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Home Annex. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April Thirteenth at 10:00 am at Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at Perrin Memorial Garden.

May his soul rest in eternal peace.
