Daren Phillip Schirico

Daren Phillip Schirico rode off into the sunset to be with our Lord on February 10, 2024.  Born to Diane and Phillip Schirico on January 23, 1967, at Dover AFB, in Dover, Delaware. Daren lived a full and active life, moving to Texas in 1979. He attended Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD schools and graduated from Boswell High School in 1985 where he was a member of the Band of Gold drum line. He met the love of his life, Gina Hearne when he was visiting his sister in college, and they married on November 23, 1990. He was a loving and faithful husband, father, grandfather, son and brother who lived a life of service and will be greatly missed by those who knew him. 

 

He is survived by wife, Gina; daughter, Ashley Adams and her husband David, grandchildren, Lilly, Miranda, and JoLee; son, Charlie Hearne and fiancée Erica; mother, Diane Schirico; sister Kim Catalano and husband Robb and their sons Kyle, Kaden, and Kolson; step-mother, Debbie Schirico; Gina’s parents, Charles and Loann Hearne; and his loyal dog Dash; plus many extended family members and friends. Daren was preceded in death by his father Phillip Schirico.

 

Despite having a lifelong heart condition, Daren lived life to the fullest, enjoying everything he did and was always staying busy whether it was riding his Harley, hunting, camping, tinkering on cars especially his ’57 Chevy but above all spending time with his family. 

 

Daren followed in the footsteps of his father in the lumber business creating a career of 24 years where he worked for Paxton, Hogan and Brazos Forest Products. Finishing his career off as the General Manager of the Brazos Grand Prairie Yard. 

 

A Funeral Service will be held at Westworth Village Baptist Temple at 2:00 pm on March 2, 2024, located at 206 Koldin Ln., Fort Worth, TX 76114. There will be a Celebration of Daren’s life following the funeral service, more information to come.  

 

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, please send live plants to fill the homes of surviving family members. Those wishing to send memorials may also plant a memorial tree in honor of Daren’s commitment to the lumber business and his love for the outdoors at a Shop Memorial Trees & Sympathy Gifts at Trees for a Change LLC https://www.treesforachange.com/collections/memorial-trees-sympathy-gifts. Those may also donate to the All Secure Foundation  Donate (allsecurefoundation.org) in honor of Daren and his commitment to the US Veterans community and his love for his country. All Secure Foundation assists Special Operations Active Duty and Combat Veterans, and their families, in recovery of Post-Traumatic Stress through education, awareness, resources for healing, marriage retreats, and PTS resiliency training.
