David Timothy Davis

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of David Timothy “Tim” Davis, a devoted father, faithful servant, and proud United States Marine, who departed this life on May 24, 2025 at the age of 74.

Born in Lipan, Texas on November 1, 1950, David, called Tim by his family and friends growing up, was raised in Thorp Spring, where he attended Thorp Spring Church of God with his family. He later attended Granbury High School before courageously leaving to serve his country in the United States Marine Corps. His service took him to Vietnam and Okinawa, and he remained forever proud to be a Marine. His patriotism and commitment to duty were defining elements of his life.

On April 7, 1990, David was baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where he served faithfully for decades in both teaching and leadership roles. For 25 years, he worked in facilities management for the Church, overseeing properties across North Central, Central, and West Texas, as well as southern Oklahoma. He found great joy in serving and visiting with members of the Church, always offering a helping hand and a thoughtful word.

David was the strong, quiet type—never boastful, always purposeful. He lived a life without complaint and expressed his love most clearly through quiet, consistent acts of service. He touched many lives with his steady presence, unwavering faith, and deep sense of responsibility.

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Janice Davis; children — David, Jackie, Dale, Selina and Nathan; daughters-in-law — Ronda, Stephanie and Donna, nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren; his sister LaWanna Sparks, nephew, Larry “Buddy” Sparks (Tracey), nieces Cathy Knowles (Joel) and Cindy Knighton (Darren) their children and grandchildren. “Uncle Tim” was loved by them all.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 28, 2025 from 6-8 pm at Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner in Mineral Wells, TX.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday May 31, 2025 at 2 pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Weatherford, TX.

Interment will follow at Thorp Spring Cemetery, Thorp Spring, TX.
