Donald Eugene Rusher

Donald Rusher passed away September 19, 2022 and his wife, Wanda, passed three days later on September 22, 2022. They will be lying in state at Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Home Monday evening till 8:30 p.m. and will be laid to rest 2 p.m., Tuesday, September, 27, 2022 at Woodland Park Cemetery.

Donald Eugene Rusher, Sr. was born in Benton, Illinois on November 21, 1931 to parents, Jesse and Loretta Rusher. His sisters Mary Adams, Helen Wayman, Jane Fanta and his brother, Jack Rusher all preceded him in death.

Don was a Vietnam Veteran and retired Army Master Sergeant. He was a true and much-loved husband, father, grandfather and friend.

Wanda Patricia Kahler Rusher was born in Fort Worth, Texas on November 16, 1930 to parents, J.D. and Inis Ruth Kahler. She had a brother, Danny Kahler and sister, Billie June Langston who preceded her in death. She is survived by sister, Deborah and husband Joe Siefkas of Fort Worth.

Wanda was a Tarleton State graduate and a tax auditor for the State of Texas. She was a member of the Toastmasters Club. Wanda had a love for the Baker Hotel and gave tours before the renovation started.

Wanda and Don were members of the Central United Methodist Church. They were married for almost 70 years and had traveled the world together. They had three sons, Michael, Terry, and Donald.

Survivors include their sons, Michael and wife Lenore Rusher, and Donald and wife Dru Rusher; grandchildren, Jonathan Rusher and Marlo Shires, Justin Dane Rusher, Jathan Lee Rusher, Jordan Rene and wife Jesse Rusher, Tony and wife Suzzane Rusher, Jeremy Rusher, Mynda and husband Russell Welch, Shaun Rusher and Tracy Rusher; 3 great-grandchildren, Zane Michael Rusher, Cameron Rusher, and Gavin Campbell; 1 great-great-grandchild, Luka Campbell; many nieces, nephews and friends. They were preceded in death by son, Terry Dwight Rusher.
