Dorothy Louise Thomas

Dorothy Louise Thomas, of Graford, Texas, passed away on October 29,2021. 

Visitation will be 5:00 – 8:00 pm, Tuesday, November 2, 2021, at Baum Carlock Bumgardner in Mineral Wells. 

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, November 3, 2021, at the Church of Christ in Graford, Texas. Burial will follow at 3:00 pm at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park in Colleyville, Texas. 

Dorothy was born near Chillicothe, Texas, to Benjamin Harrison Smith and Katie Edna Smith on August 28, 1933. She married Lyndell Joe Thomas on September 5, 1949, in Quanah, Texas. She owned and ran Joe’s Bait and Tackle supporting the fishermen of Possum Kingdom Lake for three decades. Dorothy was a loving, kind, and generous woman who was adored by all who knew her. She enjoyed nature and created many loving memories fishing with her family on Lake Texoma. As the matriarch of the family, Dorothy was the proud recipient of many Thomas Family Challenge trophies and was a fierce competitor on the Scrabble board. 

Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and all siblings. She is survived by her four children, Wendell Thomas, Wanda Harris, Larry Thomas, and Katherine Thomas, as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
