Doyle Glen Bettis was born June 1, 1933 in Canadian, Texas to Charlie and Rachel Bettis. The Lord sent his angels to take him to heaven, with his wife of 31 years at his bedside holding his hand, on May 8, 2023.
He was a Christian and a member of Palo Pinto County Cowboy Church. Doyle was an engineer for Santa Fe Railroad for 30 years. He honorably served in the US Army from March 25, 1954 to March 23, 1956. He was a Master Mason and Khiva Shriner.
He was a loving dad, step-dad, Gramps, and Great-Gramps. Doyle never met a stranger. He enjoyed hunting, camping, and fishing and he loved his dogs.
The family is thankful to everyone at Centerwell Home Health, Beth and Cassie became family to us. Thank you to Dr Alice Ramsey and Twila, also Gentiva Hospice for all the care, love, and support they gave us. We were so blessed to have friends come by and visit with us.
He loved his home in the country where he wanted to spend his final days. Doyle requested no service, he just wanted folks to take a few minutes to remember a moment they shared together. The family requests donations be made to Palo Pinto County Cowboy Church Children’s Playground Fund in his memory.
