Edna May Royer

Edna May Royer, of Mineral Wells, Texas, passed away peacefully in her home on February 6, 2026, surrounded by the loved ones she cherished so deeply.

May was born on November 12, 1964, to Goldie Helen Walker and John Ashby. She was a nurse who loved with her whole heart. May had a passion for genealogy, was never shy, and was known for cracking jokes and speaking her mind. She gave the best advice, welcomed everyone without judgment, and made people feel like family. Her strength, honesty, and huge heart will be remembered by all who knew her.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Douglas Royer; her daughter, Helen Vigil and husband Thomas Vigil; her son, Douglas Jay Royer and wife Jannie Loftis-Royer. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Jessica and Dylan Vigil, Thomas Vigil Jr., Brittany Swindle, Lexus and Tristan Gray, Riley Vigil, Karlee Royer, Jaden Royer, Ryder Royer, T.J. Alston, Kraedyn Baker, and Derrick Royer; great-grandchildren, Axton and Asher Vigil. Sisters Karen Morgan, Debbie Hall and numerous nieces and nephews. May was preceded in death by her mother, Helen Walker, and her father, John Ashby.

A viewing will be held Monday from 6:00–8:00 PM at the funeral home. Funeral services will take place Tuesday, February 10, at 2:00 PM at Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Home.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has offered love, prayers, and support during this difficult time.
