In her nine beautiful days on this earth, November 19, 2025 – November 27, 2025, Emilia Kay touched more hearts than many do in a lifetime. Her loving big brother chose her name, and her middle name was given in honor of Naomi Kay. Born with anencephaly, Emilia defied expectations and amazed us all with her strength, grace, and the quiet miracles she brought into each moment. She carried her mama’s profile and delicate fingers, and her daddy’s nose and toes—perfectly blending the two people who adored her most. Though her time was brief, her impact will last forever, a reminder of pure love, courage and the beauty of every breath.
Emilia Kay is survived by: her parents, Fidel Ortiz and Salena Rose; her siblings: Kenzleigh Ortiz and Silas Rose; grandparents: David and Laura Ramirez, and Hortencia Ortiz; aunts/uncles: Adrian (Logan) Moreno, Darrius (Kesia) Ramirez, Luis (Pamela) Ortiz, Leticia (Jose) Galvan, Alberto (Elizabeth) Ortiz; cousins: Zahaba Ramirez, Omar Galvan, Carlos Galvan, Yareli Galvan, Emily Ortiz, Luis Ortiz Jr, Alexa Ortiz, Sophia Ortiz, Ángela Ortiz and Ariana Ortiz.
She was preceded in death by: great grandpa: Arturo Rodriguez Sr; her grandfather: Fidel Ortiz Sr.; and a cousin: Ramiro Rojas, Jr.
Visitation and Rosary will be Tuesday from 6-8 at Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be 10 am Wednesday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Woodland Park Cemetery.
