Erma Lou Cobb

Erma Lou Logan Cobb, age 78, a life-long resident of Palo Pinto County, passed away peacefully on the morning of January 13, 2026 surrounded by her beloved daughters and their husbands. She was born August 19, 1947 in Mineral Wells, Texas to her Father Curtis Guptill Logan and Mother Velma Lorean Gillispie Logan.

At the age of eleven, Erma made the decision to accept Christ as her personal savior on November 14, 1957 and was Baptized January 26, 1958, on her parents eighteenth Wedding Anniversary.

She married the love of her life and best friend, Roy Wayne Cobb September 13, 1963 in Burleson. Texas. Wayne and Erma were blessed to have celebrated 57 years of marriage before his passing November 13, 2020.

They became first time parents with the birth of a beautiful baby daughter Stephanie Ann Cobb, and ten years later with the birth of Staci Lyn Cobb. Raising their two daughters was one of their greatest accomplishments.

With Erma being a Graford Jackrabbit in the Class of 1965 she became a very faithful supporter of ALL THINGS JACKRABBITS. She not only was a fierce guard on the Lady Rabbits Basketball team, after the game was over, she hustled out of the locker room to cheer on the Jackrabbits as a Cheerleader. She represented her Class by being crowned Coming Home Queen in 2005, and was escorted by David Nicklas, as King.

Erma was always active in her community. She played a huge role in organizing The Graford Ballpark Association where she helped raise funds to build Eubanks Field so Graford Youth would have a place to play summer league ball.

She also served as their Secretary /Treasurer for several years and mowed endless hours of grass. In 1986, when all the surrounding towns were celebrating our Sesquicentennial, Erma along with her sister decided that Graford needed to do the same, so they started planning. With a lot of blood, sweat, and tears they pulled it off. There was a 5K Run, a Cattle Drive with Texas Longhorns in downtown Graford with real Cowboys, a Parade, Greased Pig Races, Square Dancers, a Butter Churning Contest, a time capsule was buried in Blackman Park, Bar-B-Q, The Gun Slingers with their War Wagon from the North side of Fort Worth, and many more activities. We closed the night with a Street Dance. What a fun day in downtown Graford with over 2,000 people in attendance. There was never anything that you could dream up to do that she could not accomplish. You were always lucky to have her on your team.

Erma had a lengthy career in the work force. Her first job was waiting tables at Annie's Café in Graford, followed as a bookkeeper for the local John Deere Dealer, Lee & Company. After that business sold she went to work at Fort Wolters in the Finance Department where she had the task of auditing the Military Pay Records of our Pilots returning from Vietnam. With the Helicopter Training Center was moved to Fort Rucker Alabama she transferred to the General Service Administration at the Federal Building in downtown Fort Worth where she worked until being diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 1985. After a year-long battle with treatments she decided to retire. She became a partner with Wayne in the 0il & Gas business and they founded RW Operating. She then decided to follow her Dad's lead and try her hand as a carpenter by flipping houses. She was very talented in this field by being able to use a saw and hammer with either hand. She convinced her friend Kent Ragle to become her partner in the house flipping business and together they vastly improved several homes in Graford.

Erma's greatest job that she loved the most was taking care of Wayne and raising her family. When most people were looking forward to retirement in their later vears, she and Wavne took on a new challenge by adopting their twin Great Grand Sons, Landon and Logan, and at age 63 & 60 they made it look easy.

Because she loved all things that Wayne loved she shared his great love of Racehorses, although there were several, their favorites were Kip Deville and Mr. Money Bags. They won many races and awards in the Horse Racing business.

Erma is survived by her loving family who will miss her dearly. Daughters, Stephanie Ann Cobb (David Tucker), and Staci Lyn Cobb Jackson (Eric Jackson). Sons Landon Lane Cobb and Logan Wayne Cobb (Cadyn Landis). Grandsons Jared Wayne Hall, Brandon Shadle Hall, and John Wright. Great Grandaughter Sterling Lou Cobb. Sisters Dorthy Annette Logan Dobbs, Sherry Beth Logan Kincaid, and Nita Sue Logan Calicutt (Johnny "Bud"). Sister-in-law Kay Cobb Burleson. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friend Carolyn Key.

Erma was preceded in death by her Husband Roy Wayne Cobb. Parents Curtis Guptill & Velma Lorean Logan Weldon. Stepfather Loyd Weldon. Four Half-sisters Nellie Logan Lisee, Lonetta Melba Logan Courtney, Luellen Logan, Bobbie Joe Logan Miller.
