Ernestine Stevenson

Ernestine Stevenson, born on April 20, 1933 at her home near Childress Texas. She married James C Stevenson Jr. on March 14, 1953 and we're blessed with two Sons. They were both teachers in Mineral Wells starting in 1958 and continued their careers with MWISD until retirement. Ernestine decided to return to the classroom several times over the next few years giving a total of 41 years in education. She lived out her remaining years at her home in Mineral Wells.

Ernestine went home to be with her Lord and savior on May 14th 2026, having just celebrated her 93rd birthday a month before.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband James, grandson Andrew Stevenson, sisters Marie Slover and Geraldine Trent, her parents, Ernest and Edna Rea, and a plethora of beloved family members.

She leaves behind a sister, Nancy, two sons, Rea Stevenson and Tom Stevenson, 3 grandkids Ben Stevenson , Aaron Stevenson, and Sarah Stevenson. 8 great grandkids, and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family, along with her church family.

Services will be held at Immanuel Baptist Church on Monday, May 18th at 10 AM. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:00 Sunday at Baum Carlock Bumgardner funeral home.
