Franklin (Frank) Davis passed away on November 4, 2023 at the age of 89 in Willow Park, TX. Frank was born on November 28, 1933 in Hedley, TX to the late O.B. Davis, Sr and Gertrude Watson Davis.
Frank met the love of his life, Barbara Millslagle in 1954 in Denver, Colorado. They would have celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary this coming December. They moved their family back and forth between Colorado and Texas before finally making their home in Millsap, TX in 1968. Frank was a long time fixture in the Millsap community, always helping anyone that he could. You could always find him at the local gas station enjoying his morning coffee or afternoon iced tea and catching up on the local news with his friends. Frank was a jack of all trades and held many jobs over the years and finally retired from the Weatherford College Mineral Wells Campus maintenance department.
Frank’s favorite hobby was being on his lawn mower mowing the grass. The joke always was that if Frank’s grass was taller than a quarter inch then you better check on him because there was something wrong. But Frank’s greatest pride and joy was his family and his friends that soon became family along the way.
Frank is survived by his wife, Barbara Davis of Millsap, TX. His daughters Kathy Ortiz of Millsap and Debbie Spurgeon (Robert) of Cleburne. He is also survived by his five grandchildren Elisa Reveles (John), Franco Oritz (Jamie), Laura Diduch (Scott), Brenda Spurgeon, Robbie Spurgeon (Aimee) and adopted grandchildren Leanna and Chad Davis. Frank has nine great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren that he is survived by. Frank is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Dewey Davis, Odell Davis, O.B. Davis Jr, Clifford Davis, Virgil Davis, Winfred Davis, Fred Davis, Billy Davis, Sr and sister Bonnie Rhoades. Frank is also predeceased by his son-in-law, Bernardo Ortiz.
