Fred Howard White, Jr.

Fred White was called home on September 14, 2024.

Fred was born on July 6,1939 to Fred and Velva White. He was a lifelong resident of Mineral Wells. He was a graduate of Mineral Wells High School. He later served in the National Guard from 1956 to 1964. Fred married Lola Roberts in 1981. Fred served in many areas of the community. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, became a Master Mason and served for over 60 years. Fred shared his love of beekeeping with his nephew Danny Walton, and it became a very successful hobby for the two of them. He also happily served the students and families of Mineral Wells ISD in the Transportation Department for almost 20 years until his retirement.

In his later years, Fred enjoyed sitting in his chair observing the birds and flowers, reading one of his favorite magazines, watching a Nascar race or Dallas Cowboy game. With the help of Casey Brogdon, he kept his farmland immaculate.

Fred was preceded in death by his parents Fred and Velva White, his wife Lola, son Bert, sister and brother-in-law Lou and RJ Walton, and brother-in-law Wayne Wenninger.

Fred is survived by his son, Nick White, sister, Melinda Wenninger, niece Louann Walton, nephews, Bobby Walton, Danny Walton, Sam Wenninger (Susan), Steve Wenninger (Lisa), and Jason Wenninger (Andrea). He is also survived by his cousins Annelle Wall and Langdon White. Fred is further survived by a host of great and great-great nieces and nephews and his beloved dog Lulu.

Graveside services will be held 10 a.m., Thursday, September 19, 2024 at Sturdivant Cemetery. He will be lying in state at Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Home on Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
