We are saddened to share that Glen Ray Clayton, a lifelong resident of Mineral Wells, Texas, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2025, at the age of 73. Born on December 12, 1951, Glen was a beloved husband, father, and friend who touched the lives of many in his community. He married Emma Evelyn “Dixie” Light on March 1, 1979 in Graford.
Glen was known for his kind heart, hardworking nature, and a knack for fixing just about anything as a skilled mechanic in the automotive industry. He loved working with his hands and took great pride in his craft. His experience working as a mechanic included 30 years for Barnett Motor Company, 20 years for Advanced Total Kar Kare and Take 5 Oil Change.
Glen is preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Claudia Clayton; his brothers, Jerry Clayton, Larry Clayton, Norman Clayton, David Clayton, Johnny Clayton, Rickey Clayton; and his sister, Judy Jones.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Dixie Clayton; sons, Glen “Dobie” Clayton, Jr. and wife Jackie and George Clayton; grandchildren, Ethan Clayton and wife Samantha, Hannah Clayton, and Emmah Clayton; one great-grandchild, Liam Clayton; and many other family members. Together, they will cherish the beautiful memories they shared and continue to honor his legacy.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 5-7 p.m. at Baum Carlock Bumgardner Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Friday, June 13, 2025 at Mineral Wells Church of God. Following the service, Glen will be laid to rest at Salesville Cemetery.
