J. Deaton

J. W. Deaton, 82, passed away June 2, 2019 at his home in Mineral Wells. He was born September 30, 1936 in Hannibal the son of Sherman and Bessie Lee Deaton. He married Geraldine Reigh on December 22, 1965 in Mineral Wells. He was a longtime resident of Mineral Wells and a member of the Palo Pinto County Cowboy Church. He worked at Southern Airways of Texas from 1957-1972 and retired as a Assistant Chief Test Pilot. Graveside services will be 10 AM Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at Hannibal Cemetery. He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law: Gary and Jeanne Henderson of Elk City, Oklahoma, Rodney and Carole Henderson of Weatherford, daughters and son-in-law: Rosemary and Fred Hellyer of San Antonio, Sharon Stamper of Graham, Debbie Berner of Wichita, Kansas, Debra Minter of Winnie, sister: Gayle McCann of Stephenville, 14 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife: Geraldine Deaton on March 4, 2007, his parents, son-in-law: Craig Stamper, and sisters: Helen Little, Maxie Logan, and Leona Christie. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Palo Pinto County Cowboy Church in his memory.
