Jack Powell, longtime businessman, devoted family man, and respected member of the Mineral Wells community, passed away on April 18, 2026, at the age of 88.
Born on July 31, 1937, in Paducah, Texas, Jack lived a life marked by hard work, integrity, and deep love for his family. He was best known as the longtime owner of Jack Powell Ford in Mineral Wells, a family business that has served the community for nearly fifty years. Under his leadership, the dealership became known not only for its success, but for the honesty, kindness, and personal relationships that Jack believed mattered most.
For those who knew him, Jack was more than a businessman. He was a steady presence, a mentor, and a man whose word could always be trusted. He took pride in serving others and cared deeply about the people of Mineral Wells and the surrounding area. Many customers have become lifelong friends, and many employees have become like family.
Jack was a longtime member of Southside Church of Christ in Mineral Wells, where he worshiped faithfully since 1977.
Above all else, Jack loved his family. He is survived by his two sons, Jay Powell and Clay Powell, and daughters-in-law Lori Powell and Rhonda Powell, all from his first marriage to Barbara. He is also survived by a son, Charles Pierson and wife Pam, and a daughter, Page Rogers and husband Rodney, from his second marriage to Faye. Jack is further survived by eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Irene Powell; his first wife, Barbara; his second wife, Faye; his sister, Mary Frances Clary; and his brother, Joe Powell.
Jack's legacy will live on through his family, through the business he built, and through the countless people whose lives he touched. He will be remembered for his generosity, his strength, his quiet wisdom, and the example he set for those around him.
