James Thomas Coker, born on January 30, 1954 in Deer Park, Texas and passed away on September 11th, 2026 in Santo Texas.
James married his loving wife Deborah Ann Weldon on February 28, 1975. James is survived by wife Deborah Weldon Coker; sons Christopher Walker of Wisconsin, Tim Walker and wife Stacie of Arlington, Texas, Jimmy Don Coker of Santo, Texas, Robert Coker and wife Iccari of Weatherford, Texas, and Joe Ellis of Santo, Texas. James is also survived by 11 grandchildren Zakkary Walker, Zaine Walker, Zien Walker, Alex Sandoval, Jonathan Walker, Austin Coker, Anthony Coker, Katie Coker, Brianna Mooney, Brent Mooney, and Hadly Ellis. Three great-grandchildren Evalee, Noah, and Luke. James was proceeded in death by his father Goosby Coker, mother Edith Washburn Coker, two brothers, Jerry Coker, E.G. Coker.
James retired from RRR Construction of Morgan Mill as a heavy equipment operator. James served in and around Palo Pinto County on the Palo Pinto Volunteer Fire Department and lastly the Lone Camp Volunteer Fire Department where he retired as a lieutenant and dozer operator. James spent his life as a man serving people. He showed love to those around him by teaching them how to do things. James instilled a very strong work ethic in his family by leading as an example. James worked until he was no longer physically able but never lost the desire to provide or help others.
He was a lover of many things hot rods, guns and most of all his old country music and dancing with the love of his life. James had several names he went by such as husband, dad, Poppy and will be missed by many who knew, loved and respected him. Dad we love you and miss you.
The family request in lieu of flowers a donation be made in Poppy's name to the Lone Camp Volunteer Fire Department.
The family would like to cordially invite you to a celebration of life for James Coker being held October.14th 2026 at 1 PM. at the Lone Camp Community Center located 7300 block South FM 4, Lone Camp right next door to the Lone Camp Volunteer Fire Department. This is a casual dress event. We will be sharing stories to celebrate James' life. We would love for you to come honor and celebrate his life. The family encourages anyone wishing to share any stories about James to please reach out to Robert Coker (940) 452-5424. James was loving and always loved a good party and would not want any of us to be sad. So we want to spend time with those who knew and loved him as we did. We will break bread, share, laugh and maybe cry a little but it will be something he would like.
