James Edward Slattery, Jr

James (Jimmy) Edward Slattery, Jr passed from this life on June 25, 2022 at the age of 63. He was born on August 22, 1958 to James and Ellen (Sis) Slattery in Buffalo, New York. He moved to Mineral Wells when he was in high school and spent the remainder of his life in Palo Pinto County.

From a young age, he lived and loved the rodeo life. He began riding bulls at the age of 12. He was the Bull Riding Champion of the Mineral Wells High School Rodeo Club in 1974. He attended Weatherford College where he continued to ride bulls and served as the Rodeo Team President. 

Jimmy had several titles growing up... Son, Brother, Eagle Scout, Cowboy, Bull Rider, Salesman, Electrician, Engineer, Computer Technician, Photographer, Sports Enthusiast but his favorites were Dad and PawPaw.

He was reunited in Heaven with his Mom, brothers, John and Danny, and nephew, Beau Pate.

Jimmy is survived by his children, Kelle Slattery and fiance Justin Shirley, Jennifer Lund and husband Tony, and Sonny Slattery; the mother of his children, Susan Slattery; his grandchildren, Jaden, Kalyfornia, and Gracelynne Risk, Ashlynn and Alleigh Lund, and Micky Slattery; his Dad, James Sr; and sisters, Kathleen Seekings, Maureen Harrison and husband Jeff, Sue Brewster, and Ellen Edwards. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation and viewing will be held at Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Home in Mineral Wells on Saturday, July 2, from 2-4. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
