James Arden Stevens

James Arden Stevens passed away on November 12, 2024, in Mineral Wells, Texas. James was born on March 26, 1943, in Ord, Nebraska to Ralph Howard Stevens and Byrnece Altha Leach Stevens.

James married Sandra Jean Dockweiler and together they had a daughter, Angela and two sons Christian and Jered. James was a family man who loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed game night playing cards or dominoes. He was active in his church; he was deacon and sang in the choir. He was the leader of the Silver Notes. He also loved donating his time helping others.

James was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Byrnece Stevens; his wife Sandra; son Jered Andrew Stevens; daughter Kristine (infant at birth); and brother Delmar Stevens.

James is survived by a daughter Angela Croucher and husband John, a son Christian James and wife Xan, and grandchildren Mark Andrew Stevens and wife Renee, Heather Danielle McClaflin and husband Shan, Kiera Dawn Stevens, Holly Ann Meredith and husband Chris, Taylor Renay Stevens, Jacob Andrew Stevens, Thomas Andrew Stevens, and Nyveah Marie Stevens. Jame is also survived by a brother Donald Stevens and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, November 23, 2024 at the First Baptist Church in Mineral Wells, Texas. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 5-7 p.m. at Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made the First Baptist Church choir.
