"Pete" Gates Jr. and Dwaine Harrison; cousins David Wayne Gates Jr. and Jimmy Dwaine Harrison Jr.Doodles was a joy and an inspiration to all who knew him. He fought a hard fight to survive and taught everyone what it means to not give up. Before he got sick just before turning 5, he was all boy. He loved to be outside. He liked going to his Nana Betty's house because she had lots of animals such as goats, horses, ducks, chickens and pigeons and a big turkey that he was afraid of. One day his mother looked out the front door to check on him as he played in the yard. He was pushing his bubble mower and told his mom he was going to cut his Nanas yard. His Nana always kept candy in a dish on her coffee table; he would get all the chocolate candy out even if it meant putting it in his pockets. When his brothers would be at their friend's house in the next block Doodles would stand in the yard and holler at them that their mom wanted them; when they made it home he would tell them it was he, not their mom that wanted them home, he wanted to go play. Everyone has their own special memory of Doodles, and we all love him.
