Jerry Louie Long

Jerry Louie Long, 84, of Mineral Wells, passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2026. 

Jerry was born on February 13, 1942 in Sulphur Bluff but grew up in Mineral Wells. He graduated from MWHS in 1960 and married his high school sweetheart, Elaine (Talley), on August 3, 1963. He retired from Texas Power & Light in 1992 after 25 years of service and becoming the first crew foreman in Mineral Wells. In 1992, he started Longs Pumping Service, which he ran successfully for nearly 30 years. 

He is survived by his children, Kim Nichols, Sonya Sandoval, and Clint Long, all of Mineral Wells; his grandchildren, Karli Roper, and husband Justin, of Midland, Zack ElFallah, and wife Emily, of Roanoke, VA, and Stefon Sandoval of Mineral Wells; his great grandson, Nickolas Roper; as well as his nieces Susann Baker and Rikke French, also of Mineral Wells. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine; his parents Louie and Dora (Biggerstaff); and his siblings, Frankie Robertson, LeeElla Baxley, Jack Long, and James (Jim) Long.
