Jesse Lenwood Dodson

Jesse Lenwood Dodson passed away January 9, 2022. He was born on April 23, 1942 to Robert and Gladys Dodson. Jesse was the only son with three sisters. He graduated from Mineral Wells High School in 1960.

Jesse married Judy Ann Benton on June 2, 1961. Together they had five children but raised many more than that. Jesse’s passion was mechanic work. He loved working on cars and there were very few he couldn’t fix. He loved his time as a mechanic at the coal mines in Colorado. These were some of his favorite stories. Jesse would often refer to Colorado as “God’s Country”. Jesse was a provider and took pride in providing for his family. He never met a stranger. 

Jesse is preceded in death by his wife, Judy Dodson; son, Tim Dodson; daughters, Shelly and Denise Dodson; sister Maurine; and his parents. 

Survivors include his daughter, Misty Short and husband Michael of Mineral Wells; daughter, Briana Dodson of Throckmorton; daughter-in-law, Lyndi Dodson of Mineral Wells; grandchildren, Chrissi, Timothy, Stetson, Dakota, Hailey, Maycee, Cooper and Hucklen; great-grandchildren, Alissa, Kadie, Chloe, Waylon, Josey, Melodi, Braedon and Kason; his sisters, Judy McDougal and Jeanette Lammons. 

Services will be 2 PM Saturday, January 22, 2022 at First Baptist Church of Perrin.
