JoAnn Helterbran Peaden

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of JoAnn Helterbran Peaden, who entered eternal rest on July 26, 2026, in Mineral Wells, Texas, at the age of 72.

JoAnn was born on June 20, 1954, in Atlanta, Georgia, to Robert and Lola Helterbran. As the daughter of an Army family, she spent much of her childhood moving from place to place before eventually settling in Mineral Wells, Texas, a community she proudly called home.

JoAnn dedicated her career to property management, where her warm personality, strong work ethic, and caring nature left a lasting impression on everyone she met. Before that, she lovingly cared for countless children through her in-home daycare for many years, becoming a trusted caregiver and cherished part of so many families' lives. She also enjoyed a memorable stint as a local radio personality, affectionately known as "JP on the Go," where her vibrant personality and infectious sense of humor brought smiles to listeners throughout the community.

Family was the center of JoAnn's world. She was a devoted mother to Marla Pollone and Karla Gaskill, and an incredibly proud grandmother to Koby Pollone, Dylan Pollone, Jaclyn Pollone, Kendell Paige Garrett, Blake Counts, and Jade Gaskill. She was also blessed with seven cherished great-grandchildren: Laney Pollone, Dawson Pollone, Lola Pollone, Emma Pollone, Ryan Pollone, Peyton Pollone, and Kinley Garrett. In addition, she leaves behind her four nieces Stefanie Cawood, Lindsay Price, Hailey Helterbran, and Hannah Helterbran.

JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Lola Helterbran, and her brother, David Helterbran. She is survived by her daughters Marla (Raymond) Pollone and Karla (Keith) Gaskill, and her brothers, Buddy Helterbran, Bob Helterbran, and Cliff Helterbran, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, and countless friends whose lives she touched.

A faithful member of Palo Pinto County Cowboy Church, JoAnn lived a life rooted in faith, compassion, and generosity. She dedicated many years to volunteering in support of breast cancer awareness, giving her time and heart to helping others.

JoAnn embraced life with enthusiasm and joy. She loved traveling, crafting, and anything related to Elvis Presley. One of her favorite memories was attending an Elvis concert in 1977, where she received a kiss on the cheek from Elvis himself—a story she loved to tell and one that always brought a smile to her face. She also treasured spending time with her beloved group of friends, affectionately known as the "Huzzies."

Anyone who knew JoAnn knew her for her radiant smile, infectious laughter, and ability to light up any room she entered. She truly was the life of the party, a loyal friend to everyone she met, and a second mom to many. Above all else, she was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose unconditional love created a lasting legacy that will continue through the generations.

Though our hearts are broken by her passing, we find comfort in knowing that JoAnn's kindness, humor, strength, and love will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

A Celebration of Life honoring JoAnn will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at: 207 NW 1st Ave, Mineral Wells, Texas
