Joe Blaylock

Joe B "Jody" Blaylock was born August 8, 1934 In Friona Texas. When he was 6 months old his parents moved to Tupelo Miss. When he was 9 years old his parents moved back to Texas settling in Hereford. He attended school in Hereford and latter in Dimmitt Texas. He had a grandmother whom he loved and she always took him to church and Sunday school. With her love and Christian beliefs Jody became a Christian. He was baptized in a tank. Jody's family later moved to Friona where he went to grade school. He attended High School in Friona until 1949. His family then moved to Muleshoe. Jody Loved Muleshoe High School and had many friends. He had a favorite football pal, Buck Johnson. At every 1953 Class reunion we heard stories about football days etc. He Graduated in 1953 In Muleshoe Texas. His love was Landscaping and design work. He eventually moved his family to Ft. Worth Texas where he raised his children. But in his Heart Muleshoe was his "Home away from Home" In 1995 he reunited with his High School sweetheart. They were Married six months later. They moved to Mineral Wells Texas and joined First Baptist Church Jody's health declined in the past 10 years. He later was moved to Palo Pinto Nursing Center until his peaceful death. Jody is survived by his wife, Mamie Blaylock, 2 Children, Anthony Blaylock, Angie Cryer and a Step Son Randy Sanderson, 2 Granddaughters, Adrienne and Aubrey and Lou Ann Blaylock, who was the Mother of his children and a Sister-in-Law, Bonnie Blaylock. He was preceded in death by His Brother Jerry Blaylock, Parents Milton and Opal Blaylock as well as a special Lady Edith Chandler. He was Loved by many special younger children in his life Common, Isaac, Jeremiah, Emma and Jon Clark Giddings.
