John "JA" Albert Brogdon

John Albert “JA” Brogdon passed away on Wednesday, January 27,2021 at his home.  He was born to Albert Carl and Gladys Brogdon on April 28, 1938 in Bennett, Texas.  JA married the love of his life Kathern Brogdon on July 3, 1962 and were married for 58 wonderful years.  He was blessed to have lived and passed away on the family farm in Bennett, Texas where he enjoyed living on the river, farming and raising animals.  JA loved spending time with family and friends.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Millsap for many years and retired from Acme Brick in Bennett, Texas after 47 years of employment.

JA is survived by his loving wife Kathy, son Casey Brogdon and wife Krystal, son Monty Brogdon and wife Bobbye.  Grandchildren Angela Vojtasek, Trevor Brogdon, Colby Brogdon, and Izzy Brogdon; as well as one great-granddaughter Breena Brogdon; brothers Jack Brogdon and wife Imogene, Albert Brogdon and wife Pauline, David Brogdon; sisters Linda Brogdon Eagle, Jody Brogdon Patterson, Doris Brogdon, and Betty Brogdon; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

JA was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Laurie Brogdon Harrison and husband William “Tiny”; brothers James Ray Brogdon, Roy Brogdon and sister Peggy Austin; lifetime friend Jimmy Mac Clary and wife Carla.

Visitation will be Friday, January 29, 2021 from 6:00 -8:00 at Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be Saturday, January 30, 2021 at 10:00 at First Baptist Church in Millsap with burial following at Memory Gardens in Weatherford, Texas.

Pallbearers are Casey Brogdon, Monty Brogdon, Colby Brogdon, Chester Brogdon, Jason Evans, Mike Burton, and Harold Dugger.
