Johnny Moore Beard

On Saturday, April 17 we will celebrate the absolutely incredible life of Johnny Beard. We lost him on Monday, April 12, 2021 due to complications in his liver. If you had any sort of relationship at all with my dad, you know it goes without saying that he was an absolutely great character, he carried the warmest heart, a keen mind, and a sense of humor that kept everyone around him happy and comfortable. He has blessed me with more than life, but with a composition. He lived his life through music and sports, he would sing for hours. He loved sports, especially football but he loved to play basketball. He taught me when I was 6 to play basketball, and his natural talent inspired me, and rubbed off on to me.

Johnny was born February 8, 1964, to Clotho and Sammye Moran Beard, in Mineral Wells. He earned a bachelor’s degree in horticulture from Texas State University.

In 1992 he married Robin Bush Beard and in 1993 they brought my sister KateLynne into the world. In 1997 they brought me, Z, into the world. Life became a struggle for my parents and us, and they separated around 2003. It was hard, but as a family, we stayed in contact with one another the best ways that we could. I have never in my life had one negative altercation with my dad. His positivity was radiant, he was hilarious, and he was very intelligent. We have shared some of the most amazing times together, and I will always carry him with me. I look like him, I sound like him, I think like him, and I am so fortunate for that. What an extraordinary life to celebrate. He knows we will be sad, but I hope he knows we will find joy in celebrating his legacy.

It’s difficult to capture his life in this brief synopsis, but his loved ones and I will be able to gain the closure we need celebrating his life at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 17, 2021 at 691 High Point Rd, Mineral Wells, Tx 76067. I appreciate all the people praying and all the recent condolences.
