Judy Irene Wheeler (Poe), 71 of Santo, Texas passed Sunday October 3, 2021, at Palo Pinto General Hospital.
The Family will greet friends and relatives from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday October 7, 2021, at the Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Home in Mineral Wells, Texas.
Funeral Service will be held at Palo Pinto County Cowboy Church in Santo, Texas at 2 p.m. on Friday October 8, 2021, officiated by Pastor Roger Keck.
Pallbearers will be Gideon Wheeler, Jeremy Casteel, James Carter, Ellison Carter, Don Shires, Kenneth Doyle, Kevin Barron, Clifford Barron.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Trent Pennington, Dillon Parker, Andrew Power.
Judy Wheeler was born to Virgil and Peggy Poe on March 14, 1950, in Mineral Wells, Texas. She grew up and attended school in Mineral Wells. Judy graduated from Mineral Wells High School in 1968. She married Lynn Allen Wheeler on May 25, 1968. She worked as rancher and homemaker her entire life at her home on Chestnut Mountain. Judy was very involved in the Santo ISD activities and coached little league soft ball and ran the concession stand for many years. She never missed a school function for her children or grandchildren. Judy was a very dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to everyone she met.
She was preceded in death by her Father Virgil and Mother Peggy.
Judy is survived by her husband Lynn Wheeler of Santo; Brother Jim Westbrook of Fort Worth; Brother Elbert Poe of Lone Camp; Son Steve and wife Jodi Wheeler of Santo; Daughter Cindy Pennington and future son in law Jeff Casteel of Santo; ten grandchildren: Jonna Pennington of Mineral Wells; Gideon Wheeler of Santo; Saxann Wheeler of Santo; Trent and Tori Pennington of Mineral Wells; Lakota Wheeler of Santo; future step grandchildren: Dillon and Miranda Parker of Sherman; Kayla Casteel of Sherman; and Jeremy Casteel of Sherman, and five great-grandchildren: Elaine Baker, Taylynn Pennington, Huntley, Colson and Adley Parker.
The family would like to thank everyone in advance for the prayers and thoughts for Judy. Flowers may be delivered to Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Home. A donation may also be made to the American Cancer Society and the Multiple Sclerosis Society in her name.
