In Loving Memory of Judy Morrow
Judy Morrow, a devoted mother, cherished grandmother, and accomplished rancher, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2023. Born on January 30, 1936, in Ardmore, Oklahoma, Judy lived a life filled with love, laughter, and an unwavering dedication to her family and community.
Judy's legacy as a hardworking rancher in the agricultural industry went beyond personal interests. She drove changes in local government by serving on the Brazos River Authority, Water Conservation Board, and Tax Appraisal Review Board. Judy was an integral part of the Morrow Grocery and feed supply company, a legacy business that served the rural community of Graford for over 75 years. Her dedication to 4H and FFA extended beyond the time her daughters were members of the organizations. For many years she organized the Graford Lion's Club Jackrabbit 5K, an event benefiting the community still celebrated today. Daughters of the American Revolution and Eastern Star also enjoyed the benefit of her lifetime membership.
Judy leaves behind a loving family who adored her. Her daughters were the center of her world, and she was immensely proud of the strong, independent women they became. Judy is survived by Melinda and her husband Gary Atchley, Samantha Morrow and her partner Debbie Weems, and Patricia Morrow and her husband Kevin Davis. Judy's grandsons, David Atchley, Tommy Atchley, Kevin Atchley, and Colin Davis were her greatest joy in life, and she cherished every moment spent with them as well as her nine great-grandchildren. She joins those who preceded her in death, the love of her life Erwin Morrow, her parents, Marjorie and Bela James and her grandson Kevin Atchley.
Within her extended family, Judy leaves behind her beloved brother, Bela M James, sister-in-law Mary Betty James, sister-in-law Carolyn Cooper, sister-in-law Billie Morrow, cousins Patti Parrish and Dickie Gauldin and numerous nieces and nephews. Together, they shared countless memories and supported one another through life's triumphs and challenges.
Judy will lay in state at the Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Chapel, on Thursday, September 14th between 10:00 am and 7:00 pm with a family visitation taking place between 7:00 and 8:00 pm.
To honor Judy's life, a funeral service will be held on September 15, 2023, at 2:00 pm, at the Graford United Methodist Church, where she and Erwin were longtime members and supporters. Following the service, Judy will be laid to rest beside her husband in a peaceful burial at the Oran Cemetery, bringing comfort to her family and allowing them to find solace in the embrace of nature.
While Judy may no longer be physically present, her spirit will forever remain alive in the hearts of all those who knew and loved her. Her legacy as a dedicated community member, nurturing mother, and adoring grandmother will endure through countless generations. May her soul find eternal peace, knowing the profound impact she had on those fortunate enough to have shared in her remarkable journey.
To honor Judy's devotion to her community, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Graford FFA and 4H in Judy's memory.
"Though gone from our sight, Judy's spirit continues to shine brightly in our lives, reminding us to cherish every moment and embrace the love that surrounds us."
