Kenda Lynette Arsenault Hill

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Kenda Lynette Arsenault, 73, who left us on December 9, 2025, in Mineral Wells, Texas. Kenda was surrounded by her loving family in her final weeks.

Kenda Lynette Phelps was born on December 10, 1951, to Sam and Shirley Phelps in Perryton, Texas. As the oldest of two children, she grew up with a strong sense of family. After graduating from Vernon High School, Kenda pursued her passion for education at Texas Tech University. She dedicated her career to teaching, inspiring students in Plano and later in Mineral Wells.

In 1984, Kenda married the love of her life, Peter Arsenault. Together, they welcomed their daughter, Kelsey, and Kenda embraced her role as a stepmom to Carrie and Drew Arsenault. Tragically, Peter's life was cut short by cancer. After his passing in 1997, Kenda relocated to Mineral Wells to raise Kelsey and to be closer to her parents, Sam and Shirley.

Kenda’s greatest joy came from being a mother and grandmother. Her heart overflowed with love for Kelsey and her cherished grandson, Gunner. Lovingly called “Nana” by Gunner, she found immense joy in her greatest role: caring for him during his first 18 months of life. Their bond was truly special, filled with laughter and love. She also cherished her relationship with her brother, Brent. Despite their sibling rivalry and occasional arguments, their bond was strong, and her love for him ran deep.

Kenda loved to read, watch football, and stay connected with everyone through Facebook. She was a vibrant ball of energy, always speaking her mind with candor and passion. Kenda had a deep love for her dogs and always had several by her side. Known for her kindness and selflessness, she had a unique ability to make everyone feel special. Kenda treasured her extended family and made a point to stay connected, ensuring she was up to date on all their lives.

Kenda will be deeply missed, but her spirit and love will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.

Kenda is survived by her daughter, Kelsey and Josh Boswell, of Mineral Wells, stepdaughter Carrie Arsenault, of New Hampshire, and stepson, Drew Arsenault, of Arizona; grandson, Gunner Boswell and step-granddaughter, Emery Boswell, of Mineral Wells; brother, Brent Phelps, of Denton; nieces, Tera Castro, of Austin and Tracy (Daniel) Walls, of Dallas; great-nieces and nephews, Dylan, Tatum, and Josie Castro, of Austin, and Hatton, Rylan, and Nora Walls, of Dallas; and many cousins, aunts, and uncles.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Peter Arsenault, and parents, Sam and Shirley Phelps.
