Lera Elizabeth Price

Lera Elizabeth Price passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2020 at a local nursing home. She was born October 24, 1933 in Olton, Texas, to I.B. and Jewell Morton Holt. Lera was a member of Southside Church of Christ, the Texas Retired Teachers Association, and the China Painting Club. She taught at Mineral Wells High School for 36 years. During that time she taught many students typing and shorthand in her Vocational Office Education (VOE) classes. She also had been the drill team and cheerleader sponsor. On September 24, 1960 Lera married Hugh Dale Price and he preceded her in death on December 20, 2000. Lera will be missed by all her family, friends and students who loved her.

Survivors include her sons, Holt Price and wife Monika and Curtis Dale Price; step-daughter, Kay Holloway and husband Gary; grandchildren, Megan Price, Courtney Price, Allison Price, Coleman Price, Colt Price, Callie Sweat, Dakota Price, and Chase Price; 8 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Dorothy Holt; numerous other extended family.

The family would like to thank her care giving angel, Linda O’Bannon, for the love and care of their mother.

Lera will be lying in state at Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Home on Friday from 9 a.m. till 9 p.m. A private family graveside will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 25, 2020 at Palo Pinto Cemetery. The service will be live streamed on the Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner’s Facebook page.
