Lillie Fay Singleton

September 8, 1940 — January 26, 2022

Lillie Fay Singleton, 81, of Weatherford, Texas, passed away January 26, 2022, in Fort Worth, Texas.

She was born Lillie Fay Cook in Ranger, Texas to Allen (Gober) and Ruthie Shubert Cook on July 8, 1940. She was one of three children.

On June 8, 1983, Lillie and Bill Singleton were married, starting the beginnings of a life full of beautiful adventures. Together they traveled and camped through forty-eight states. Their particular love of Colorado led them to Eleven Mile Canyon near Lake George. There they spent fourteen wonderful summers being park hosts to campers, friends (old and new ones they met) and family who traveled to spend time with them in this beautiful country. Lillie loved feeding the hummingbirds which would gather at their camper by the dozens. She also enjoyed capturing nature’s beauty through photography, though her favorite photos were of family. Family was important to her. She was the driving force organizing annual family reunions for many years until her health would no longer allow it. Lillie loved the Lord, being a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

We rejoice knowing that she is now with those she loved who have gone before her, her parents, Allen (Gober) Cook and Ruthie Cook Fletcher, her twin brother Willie Ray and wife, Carolyn Cook and her brother, Richard Cook.

Lillie is survived by her devoted husband, Bill Singleton; sons, Lloyd Johns (husband to Sarah), Jimmy Johns, David Johns and Charles Singleton; daughters, Vicki Villa and Teresa Davis (wife of Joe); sister-in-law, Beverly Cook (wife of Richard-deceased); twenty-one grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends that she loved dearly. She will be deeply missed.
