Linda Fisher Klingensmith, 78, passed away on July 7, 2026 in Lubbock, TX.
Linda was born on April 9, 1948, in Morgan Mill to David and Louise Fisher. She grew up in Morgan Mill and was a standout basketball player during her high school years.
In 1967, Linda began her career with Mepco/Electra, later Philips, where she worked faithfully until 1991. She took great pride in her work and the lifelong friendships she made along the way.
On June 28, 1980, Linda married the love of her life, Garry Klingensmith, becoming a devoted stepmother to his daughters, Becky and Sue. Together they welcomed their son, Casey, in 1981, completing their family.
In 1991, Linda and Garry fulfilled a lifelong dream by moving to Red River, New Mexico, where they owned and operated Timberline Lodge. Linda loved working at the front desk, greeting guests, and making everyone feel welcome. Together they spent five wonderful years surrounded by the beauty of the snow-covered mountains, creating lasting memories and friendships.
Following their time in New Mexico, they returned to Mineral Wells, where they remained until Garry’s sudden passing at the age of 60. Linda then began working in the cafeteria at PPGH, where she once again found joy in serving others and making new friends.
Later, Linda moved to Lubbock to be closer to her son, Casey, and his family. She enjoyed life at her little lake house with her beloved dog, Daisy. Whether riding her “buggy” around the neighborhood, playing wahoo, or visiting with friends and neighbors, Linda was a familiar and friendly face who enjoyed meeting people wherever she went.
Linda will be remembered for her warm smile, kind heart, and wonderful sense of humor. She never met a stranger and had a remarkable gift for making others laugh. Whether at the lodge, in the cafeteria, or simply chatting with neighbors, Linda found genuine joy in connecting with people. Her warmth, kindness, and welcoming spirit will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, David and Louise , and by her beloved husband, Garry.
She is survived by her son, Casey Klingensmith and his wife, Aaron, of Lubbock; her stepdaughters, Becky Pelfrey and her husband, Bill, of Haslet, and Sue Weigel and her husband, Bobby of Cocoa, FL; her brothers, Joe Fisher, Brad Fisher, and Rickey Fisher; her grandchildren, Cameron Klingensmith, Lance Morris (Haley), Brittany Parvianen, Cory Israelow (Grace), Drew Pelfrey, Autumn Pelfrey, and Jennifer Israelow (Jackson); five great-grandchildren, with one more expected in January; her nieces, Leigha Fox, Tosha Bell, Jennifer Fisher, and Danielle Fisher, her nephews, Joseph Fisher and Rick Fisher, sister in law, Betty Fisher-Parr; and many extended family members and dear friends who will cherish her memory.
Gravesite services will be held at Woodland Park Cemetery in Mineral Wells, at 10:00 am, August 8, 2026.
