Mack Rhea Hall, 93, passed away on March 12, 2026, at his home in Mineral Wells, Texas.
He was one of seven siblings, born to Mack W. Hall and Sallie Vera Roling Hall on February 14, 1933, in Mineral Wells, Texas. A 1951 graduate of Mineral Wells High School, Mack later served overseas in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955 and earned his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from North Texas State University.
He began his career with Tandy Leather Co. in 1958, working as a store manager until his retirement in 1998. His career took him to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he met and married Lois “Mitzi” Laduron in 1960. They later moved to San Antonio, Texas, where they were members of Northwest Hills Baptist Church for 16 years. Eventually, Mack returned to North Texas and managed Tandy’s Fort Worth store, bringing him back home to Mineral Wells.
Mack was a faithful member of Immanuel Baptist Church for 42 years, where he served as a deacon and co-founded Free Life Prison Ministries in 1999. He spent many years preaching the gospel in local jails and prisons. He loved Jesus deeply, and his trademark phrase was “Hallelujah!” Mack was known for his gentle kindness, compassion for others, and unwavering devotion to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mitzi Hall; his son, David Hall; his granddaughters, Christine Hancock and Skye (Colt) Dorr; his great-grandchildren, Katch, Kelbi, Kopper, and Kallahan Dorr; his sisters, Irene Purcell, Cindy Bonner, and Donna Neuens; his step-grandchildren, Joshua and Jennifer Phipps; as well as Ron and Beverly Lang, Pastor Robert and Sylvia Sisye (Uganda); bonus daughters, Denita and Naommi; numerous nieces and nephews, and his fellow Free Life co-ministers.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four siblings; his daughter, Curlene Phipps; and his grandson, JD Hancock.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Immanuel Baptist Church in Mineral Wells, Texas. Live streaming will be available via the church's YouTube channel.
His family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Naommi with Visiting Angels, and nurses Melody and Hailey with Alpha Omega Hospice, for their loving care and support in his final days.
