Marcella Uribe

January 31, 1933 — November 9, 2020

On Monday, November 9, 2020 as the sun began to set Marcella Uribe’s spirit was released to the angels as she was touched by our Father’s Amazing Grace. She lived life on her own terms and there was never a dull moment with her.

We were blessed to learn many valuable lessons about life, love, and the Lord from her during her 88 years. Among them was to never call between 11 and 1p on a weekday when her stories were on the TV! In fact, one of her favorite sayings was, “11 to 1!” Although it could bring a chuckle, it was a life lesson to all the people closest to her. We knew if we really needed her, she would be there no matter what time it was. Many of her proudest moments were with her family including her parents Jorge and Teresa Uribe who preceded her in death.

She was born January 31, 1933 in Gordon, Tx but lived in Millsap, Tx until shortly before her death. Marcella enjoyed her life in Millsap where she enjoyed listening to Engelbert Humperdinck and Tom Jones while sewing for many of her family members and even making them costumes. She had a love for watching early westerns and anything with John Gavin. Marcella retired from the Corps of Engineers after 50 years of service.

She is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Jorge Uribe and John Uribe; four sisters, Virginia Uribe, Adelaide Raetz, Celia Uribe, and Mary McAllister.

She is survived by a brother, Eusebio Uribe of Millsap, Tx.  Along with many beloved nieces and nephews and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

Visitation will be Thursday, November 12 from 6- 8p at Our Lady of Lourdes Church with Rosary beginning at 7p. Funeral will be Friday, November 13 at our Lady of Lourdes Church with interment following at Millsap cemetery.

Long live the beauty that comes from Marcella’s soul and onto all of us. We will hold her close within us and remember the gifts she had that made her so special. There is nothing more beautiful than the extraordinary heart of Marcella Uribe.
