Margaret Estelle Hiller

Margaret Estelle Hiller, known to most as Peg, 73, of Mineral Wells, Texas, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2026, in Fort Worth, Texas, with her son Matthew by her side.

Margaret was born on March 22, 1953, in Boston, Massachusetts, to Sadie and Joe Martin. As the child of a military family, she lived in many places, including Japan, before Texas became home. She spent much of her younger years and young adult life in Mineral Wells and other parts of Texas, later living in Florida, including Fort Lauderdale, before eventually returning to Mineral Wells. In the early 1990s, she met and married Gary Hiller, with whom she shared her life until his passing in 2023.

Margaret graduated from Mineral Wells High School, where she was named Senior Beauty, a title and memory she carried with pride throughout her life. She was a devoted homemaker and also spent time working in the insurance industry.

Peg was loving, funny, generous, stubborn, eccentric, outspoken, and full of personality. She had a style all her own and loved shopping, especially for clothes, jewelry, and kitchenware. She enjoyed photography, getting her hair and nails done, and music, with a special fondness for artists such as Elvis Presley, Kris Kristofferson, Patsy Cline, and Keith Urban.

More than anything, Peg loved her family. Her greatest joy was taking care of her boys and making sure they had everything they needed and more. Later, that same love carried over to her grandchildren, whom she helped care for during their formative years while her boys worked and continued their education. To them, she was lovingly known as Mama Peg.

She is survived by her sons, Matthew Ramsey and Adam Ramsey; her stepdaughter, Cailea Armstrong; her grandchildren, James Ramsey, Chandler Ramsey, Declan Ramsey, and Maddox Ramsey; her siblings, Ann Parr, Raye Kearby, Joe T. Martin, Vanessa Sherman, and Michael Martin; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Hiller, who passed away on May 6, 2023, and by her parents, Sadie and Joe Martin.

Visitation will be held on July 6, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Home in Mineral Wells. A graveside service will be held on July 7, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. at Woodland Park Cemetery.
