Maria Lewis

February 5, 1951 — June 29, 2019

Maria (Merri) Patino Lewis, 68, our beloved, loving, beautiful and faithful mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, a longtime resident of Mineral Wells, went before her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and her Blessed Mother Mary on June 29, 2019. The Mass is 10:30 AM Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Woodland Park Cemetery. The Rosary is 6:30 PM Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with visitation following from 7-8 PM. Merri was born February 5, 1951 in Rocksprings to parents Pablo R. Patino Sr. and Tomacita Enriquez. Merri loved children she went on to teach for 17 years at Mineral Wells ISD and Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD. She loved children so much that she taught Catechism for 23 years at Our Lady of Lourdes. She was a member of Catholic Daughters of America and Alta Society. She was a Lay Minister at Our Lady of Lourdes. She also lived in Dallas for a few years and she taught Catechism and was an Office Assistant for Monsignor Leon Duesman at Mary Immaculate. Merri went to Heaven to be reunited with her beloved late husband Carl R. Lewis. She left this world with the spirit of her unconditional love in every family member's heart. Merri loved reading a good book. She especially fond of Adriana Trigiani books. She loved playing bingo and playing her guitar. She also spent lots of her time sending cards to everyone. But most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren. She loved baking cookies with her granddaughter and making crafts with her grandchildren. She loved spending time with her grandson. She loved watching him play and tucking him in bed at night. He would say put me to bed abuela. Merri is survived by her son: Josh Lewis and girlfriend Holly of The Colony, daughter: Christine Tidwell and husband Justin, granddaughter Autumn and grandson Hunter all of Lewisville, sisters and brothers: Jody and husband Ed Hager of Tucson, Arizona, Pablo Patino Jr. and wife Pam of Mineral Wells, Jose Patino and wife Charlotte of Mineral Wells, Patricia White and husband David of Roseau, Minnesota, Freddy Patino and wife Tina of Mineral Wells, Stella Grantham and husband Neal of Mineral Wells, and Tomie West of Mineral Wells, sister-in-law: Jesse Cinega and husband Jesse of Weatherford, sister-in-law: Mary Jo Furr and husband Ed. T. of Concord, North Carolina, brother-in-law: Bobby Lewis of Palo Pinto, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Carl R. Lewis, her parents, brother: Jesse Patino and his son: Jesus Patino, sister: Maria Patino, little brother: Arulfo Patino, and father-in-law and mother-in-law: Frank D. Lewis and wife Mary Jane, and brother-in-law: Frank D. Lewis.
