Maria Guadalupe "Lupe" Rico

Maria Guadalupe “Lupe” Rico, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away October 17, 2023. She was born March 17, 1944 in Nueva Rosita, Coahuila, Mexico. 

Mrs. Rico lived in Santo for over 50 years and was known by all. She enjoyed playing Loteria with friends and most of all singing and dancing. 

Lupe was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Guadalupe Rico; daughter, Sonia Rico Velazquez; brothers, Isidro Maldonado and Arnulfo Maldonado; and by her parents, Antonio and Aurora Maldonado.

Survivors include her children, Rosa Velazquez and husband Abdias of Santo, Martin Rico and wife Almeta of Willow Park, Aurora Garcia and husband Agustin of Mineral Wells, Ricardo Rico and wife Ana of Santo, and Lupita Masters of Santo; 16 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 5 siblings; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation and Rosary will be at Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Chapel 6-8 p.m. Thursday. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Friday, October 20, 2023 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Santo North Cemetery. 

The family wants to especially thank Maria Roman and Angela Hungerford for the special care of their sister. Also, thanks to Mineral Wells Nursing & Rehab and Palo Pinto General Hospital.

She will be dearly missed.
