Marjorie Faye Smith

July 7, 1939 — February 12, 2023

Marjorie Faye Smith, 83, of Mineral Wells, TX, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, February 12, 2023. Margie was born Marjorie Faye Watson, in Stephenville, TX on July 7, 1939 to her parents Jimmie Lee and Ben Clifton Watson.

Growing up as an only child, Margie was adored by her parents, and was very much a daddy’s girl. Still young, her family moved to Mineral Wells where Margie met her devoted husband of 56 years, Jessie Lee Smith, and they were married on October 17th, 1953. Margie and Jesse had three loving sons, Gary, Eddie, and Terry. In their younger years, Margie and Jesse enjoyed riding motorcycles, dancing, and going out with friends. Through the years Margie enjoyed spending Sundays at her mother’s house where the entire family would gather to eat. Some of her best memories were made there. Later in life, Margie enjoyed spending time with family, attending services at the Church of God, visiting with friends, and the occasional ZZ Top concert. Margie was so much fun and had the most hilarious ways. Knowing her could only make you smile. She was a loving and kind woman that held family and friends close to her heart. Most importantly, she loved the Lord and praised him for everything.

Margie is survived by her two sons, Gary Smith and wife Paula of Mineral Wells and Terry Smith and wife Carrie, of Weatherford; her daughter-in-law, Gail Smith of Mineral Wells; grandchildren, Somer (Smith) Senor and husband Kevin, Cemi Jo Smith and fiancé Taylor Cook, Hunter Smith and wife Alynna, Blake Gregory and fiancé Tiffany Lavy, McCain Smith and soon-to-be fiancé Britney Allen, Mark Watkins and wife Christy, and Eddie Smith Jr.; great-grandchildren, Hannah and Jonah Senor, Lane Cook, and Landon and Kasen Smith; by her lifelong friends that were like sisters, Pat Pewitt, Nellie Shank, Paula Ortiz; and many special friends from church and the community.

Margie was preceded in death by her mother, Jimmie Lee Watson; father, Ben Clifton Watson; husband, Jessie Lee Smith; and son, Eddie Smith, all of Mineral Wells.

There will be a funeral service held for Margie on Thursday, February 16th, 2023, at 2:00 PM at the Church of God, 2501 SE 14th Ave, Mineral Wells, with burial to follow at Woodland Park Cemetery, 3600 S. Oak Ave, Mineral Wells, TX.
