Martha Jane Schluter, age 83 of Mineral Wells, Tx relinquished her earthly body on June 26,2026. She was surrounded by her loving family while listening to music that she loved dancing to.
Jane was born on March 6, 1943 in Baird, Texas to Marie and Vaden Ross. The family then moved to Whitney, Tx where her and her only sibling Leon grew up and resided as children until they became young adults.
Jane is survived by her 3 children; Tammy Hukel [Mark], Darren Crow [Tammy] and Wilson Crow [Renee]. Grandchildren; Nicole Dillon [Matt], Kayla Evan [Jason], Lance Crow [Radgina], Anthony Sandoval (Jamie) Chasity Leverich [Justin], and Ayden Crow. Great grandchildren; Jake, Noah, Cassie, Levi, Weston and Brighton. Her brother Leon Ross and numerous friends.
Mom was strong-willed and had many roles in life as a mother of three. She was a very hard worker and was impactful in many roles. She was the first female Sergeant of Tarrant County Sheriff’s department who then retired after 16 years of service. She then worked at the District Clerk’s office and became a manager of the Criminal Felony Courts. She retired after 16 years of service to fulfill her roles as a grandmother and great-grandmother known lovingly as Bobo.
Jane loved fishing, traveling, bowling, playing cards and dominoes with her family and close friends [favorite saying “Hit’em hard and fast”] She was on 3 bowling leagues at the same time. Jane was devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where she served as the librarian, historian and was also a key member in the genealogy records search.
Martha Jane Schluter will be remembered at a Visitation on Sunday June 28 from 2-4 p.m. at Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Home 302 W Hubbard St Mineral Wells, Tx. Burial; Monday June 29th 11 a.m. at Whitney Memorial Park .
